Identification of structural geology at the Tangkuban Parahu geothermal area, West Java based on remote sensing and gravity data

Tangkuban Parahu is located in the north of Bandung, capital province West Java. Several hydrothermal manifestations, such as hot and warm springs with a temperature 29°C-80°C, indicate that has potential geothermal prospect. In case, understanding surface subsurface geological structures prospect area needed first step exploration. This study identifies based on remote sensing gravity datasets. Structural lineaments were extracted manually using GIS software to produce fault, fracture density (FFD) maps from DEMNAS dataset along IFSAR ALOS PALSAR images. Lineament extraction was performed at eight different sun azimuth angles (hillshade) reduce non-meaningful lines may appear. The FFD show most manifestation correlates high zones. Gravity method one steps exploration provide an overview distribution rocks structures. data analyzed parasnis reflect average rock density. derivative technique for common be applied order delineate [1]. this research, we used First Horizontal Derivative (FHD) Second Vertical (SVD) determine presence type major fault. results research zones are peak maximum FHD, which SVD=0. Nevertheless, there 3 locations zone have no FFD. Integration analysis mostly shows existence related manifestations.
